Road and Parking Lot Questions / Answers In what lengths are galvanized guard rails manufactured? The standard lengths are 25 linear feet and 12 feet, 6 inches. These lengths are used on highways and parking lots. What post spacing is commonly used? Where heavy traffic and higher vehicle speed occurs, 6 foot, 3 inch post spacing is installed. Many times 12 foot, 6 inch post spacing is utilized where traffic safety is not an issue. What are the curved pieces called where the guard rail terminates? There are two types, "flared" end and "question mark" end. Both serve the purpose of preventing a vehicle from spearing the end of the guard rail. Can you fabricate other lengths of guard rail beside the standard length of 25 linear feet and 12 foot, 6 inch? Yes, we can fabricate any length requested. Factory and Warehouse Questions / Answers What is the standard safety yellow railing system? The post spacing is a maximum of 8 feet and the height of the guard rail is 28 inches high. Can you manufacture other railing heights? Yes, every factory and warehouse has different in-plant equipment and a variety of different hazards. When would you possibly need double railing versus a single railing? Double railing is recommended where there could be a hazard involving gas, electrical or expensive machinery. Do you install ballards? Yes, we are capable of core drilling holes in concrete slabs. How much protection is needed in my facility? Please contact us. We can walk you through different scenarios.
